Sport Psychology for Dogsports

"Zen Run"

Klaudia completed her Masters in Sport Psychology and is a Mental Performance Consultant with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. She has worked with athletes in the area of performance enhancement for 10 years and focuses on helping performers manage adversity and reach optimal states of performance. When she started competing in dog agility, she quickly

realized how important the handler's mental game is in order to reach peak performance as a team.

Why Sport Psychology?

  • Ever experienced "ring nerves" in trials or competitions?

  • Ever become frustrated with yourself or your dog during training and/or trials?

  • Ever felt lack of confidence in your ability to achieve a clean run?

  • Ever forgotten a course?

  • Ever worried about failing?

Klaudia believes that if you can get yourself in an optimal state mentally, your dog will be able to naturally perform how they know how to. Sport psychology can help:

  • Enhance self-awareness

  • Build confidence and resilience

  • Regulate arousal, stress, emotions, and "ring nerves"

  • Create performance routines for you and your dog

  • Visualize courses

  • Learn performance enhancement techniques (goal setting, self-talk, focus)

  • Learn how to perform under pressure

  • Strengthen the bond with your dog

  • Have more fun
